Jacob & Associates Pty. Ltd. was founded in 1991 in Sydney, Australia. As consulting engineers we specialise in the design, analysis, evaluation and testing of glass, glazing systems and related products.
Jacob & Associates design and detail all structural applications of glass, glass walls, cantilevered and full height fins, unitised and stick system curtain walls, double skin wall systems and other applications for glass such as roof lites, atria, aquaria, swimming pool window panels, floor systems, free standing glass balustrades and point supported toughened glass panels.
Our primary focus is to ensure the architectural concept is always maintained. To this end we are able to develop designs and prepare detailed specifications that will ensure the correct selection of glass and associated material for the building.
We specialise in the identification of and solutions to glass and façade problems related to glass fracture, silicone sealant failures in I.G. units, water leakage, Nickel Sulphide inclusions and the evaluation of colour variations in glass and aluminum panels.
Building acoustics is a further related area of our activity. We develop specifications for glazing and building facades, and the acoustical evaluation of mechanical services in buildings.
Our Laboratory facilities are specifically designed for the glass and glazing industry, and include comprehensive range of tests on glass and related products.
